In the Nude

My all time favorite shoe color is.... Nude!  Sometimes labeled natural, beige, neutral, light brown, alpaca, light natural.  I love them all. From heels, sandals, flats and even rain boots.  Nude colored shoes work with everyone, almost every outfit and every season. Here are a few of my favorites

I find a lot of Nine West styles are comfortable to me, the Nuncio, Barbe and Freda. This is a pair of Nuncio's:

I recently found this beautiful pair of peep-toes for Spring at Marshall's.  These are Tahari heels, style 'Riddle'.

And for those raining, snowy days, a pair of original gloss Hunter boots in beige. Oh and they were on sale at www.shoes.com :)

Back to Basics- The Classic Essentials

I suggest buying classy not trendy. Classic pieces never go out of style. A few staples in your wardrobe can go a long way. These pieces will be able to mix and match with each other making dressing easier. Some items to focus on first would be heels, a pair of pants, skirt, jacket, cardigan, blouse and button down collared shirt. Everyone is a different size and can have their own twist on style; some can wear heels, some may want to make that a nice pair of flats. I understand that and will go into more detail later of what I pick for myself and what to look for when you are buying, but for a general idea I'm starting with just the basic pieces.  To begin I suggest starting with neutral colors to build your base.  Think black, gray, ivory, white, light blue, camel.

There are many reasons I picked the above links to show as examples. Some are that I personally wear these brands and found the quality is great and long lasting, the fit matches me perfectly, the cuts are timeless and classy.  Everyone will have their own preference on brand, but sticking with these cuts will be flattering on anyone.  This is the beginning of starting your work wardrobe.  I suggest cleaning out your closet and dresser drawers to start fresh.  You may already have some of these pieces.  Clean out anything you have not worn in a long time.  When I go through my stuff I like to donate or somethings I can sell on ebay to use towards a new piece I want. Once ready to start shopping, my tip would be to look for a sale or online discount!  Currently www.anntaylor.com has Buy Any Full-Price Top or Sweater, Get the Second 50% Off + Free Shipping on Orders Over $150. For shoes www.ninewest.com has free shipping on any purchase!

Good luck and happy shopping!  Send me your questions so I can help!

Welcome To My Closet!

Hi I’m Stefanie, an everyday girl who loves fashion.  I am creating this blog to help, inspire and transform your outfit decisions.  My first main focus is on what to wear to work.  I started working in my early teens and entered the corporate world at 19.  Growing up I have received many compliments on my choices of outfits, accessories and how I put it all together. I have had many requests to give advice and share pictures of outfits put together. It has come naturally to me and I enjoy dressing everyday. I recently had a coworker come to me about her own personal clothing issues and that is what really got me to finally do this.  She told me she loves everything I wear to work each day and she wishes she knew how to dress better.  I asked her about what she has or what she shops for. She told me she doesn’t know where to start with shopping and asks her husband each morning if she looks okay. To be honest, I was a little surprised, I never really thought that some people may feel they do not know where to begin. I immediately wanted to help her and others that may feel the same way. In this blog I will share my own pictures of outfits I wear, tips I would like to share, great finds in stores, etc.  I would also like you to share your own thoughts and tips or questions you need help with.  I look forward to sharing with you!
